 TOT SERIES 

TOT 1
An introduction to skating for skaters between the ages of 3-6 years old. Skaters will learn how to fall down and get up properly, how to march in place, and how to march forward across the ice. Skaters must be 3 years or older, potty trained, and able to stand unassisted in skates off-ice. 

TOT 2
Prerequisite: Tot 1
A continuation of Tot 1. Skaters will learn a two-foot jump in place, stationary swizzles, moving forward swizzles, and beginning two-foot glides. 

TOT 3
Prerequisite: Tot 2
A continuation of Tot 2. Skaters will learn push-and-glide stroking, preparation for snowplow stops, dips, and forward swizzles. 

TOT 4
Prerequisite: Tot 3
A continuation of Tot 3. Skaters will learn T-position pushes, backward swizzles, snowplow stops, and backward wiggles. 

TOT STARS
Prerequisite: Tot 4
A continuation of Tot 3 and 4. Skaters will continue to develop forwards and backwards skating at a more advanced pace. Skaters will learn one-foot glides; forward stroking; forward half-swizzle pumps; and forward crossovers. 


 

 YOUTH SERIES 

Pre-Alpha
An introduction to skating for skaters between the ages of 7-15 years old. Skaters will learn how to  fall down and get up properly, forward marches, two-foot glides, forward swizzles, backward wiggles, backward swizzles, and one-foot glides. 

Alpha 1
Prerequisite: Pre-Alpha
Skaters begin to learn advanced forward skating techniques that go beyond the basics of skating. Students will continue to develop their one-foot glides and backward skating while also learning forward stroking and snowplow stops. 

Alpha 2
Prerequisite: Alpha  1
A continuation of Alpha 1. Skaters will continue to develop their advanced forward skating technique, focusing on forward crossovers in both directions. Skaters will also be introduced to edges, one-foot glides on a curve, and forward half-swizzle pumps. 

Beta
Prerequisite: Alpha 2
Skaters begin to learn advanced backward skating techniques. Skaters will learn backward stroking, backwards crossovers, backwards half-swizzle pumps, backwards one-foot glides on a curve, and T-stops. 

Gamma
Prerequisites: Beta
Students will begin to learn the basics of turning from forwards to backwards. Students will learn forward-to-backwards two-foot turns, outside 3-turns, forward inside C-Step (Mohawk) combinations. and hockey stops.  

Delta
Prerequisites: Gamma
Final level in the Youth Series that introduces students to freestyle elements. Students will  learn forward inside 3-turns, forward outside consecutive edges, forward inside consecutive edges, lunges, shoot-the-ducks, and bunny hops.  At the conclusion of this level, students are eligible to register for advanced and specialty classes, including Freestyle Academy. 


 ADULT SERIES 

Adult - Beginner
An introduction to skating for skaters over the ages of 16 years old. Skaters will learn how to  fall down and get up properly, forward skating, two-foot glides, forward swizzles, backward wiggles, and backward swizzles. This course is the equivalent of Pre-Alpha. 

Adult - Intermediate  
Prerequisite: Adult - Beginner, or Pre-Alpha
Continuation of Adult - Beginner. Skaters will continue to develop their forward and backward skating skills, including one-foot glides, forward and backward stroking, forward and backward half swizzle pumps, and forward and backward crossovers. This course is the equivalent of Alpha and Beta levels. 

Adult - Advanced  
Prerequisite: Adult - Intermediate, or Beta.
Continuation of Adult - Intermediate. Skaters will begin to explore forward-to-backward turns and advanced stops. Skaters will learn forward-to-backward two-foot turns, forward outside and inside 3-turns, forward inside C-steps (Mohawks), T-stops, hockey stops, lunges, and bunny hops. This course is the equivalent of Gamma and Delta levels. At the conclusion of this level, skaters will have a basic foundation that prepares them for specialty classes and beginning freestyle levels. 


 SPECIALTY CLASSES 

Power Stroking  
Prerequisite: Delta and above, or equivalent  

Synchronized Skating - Advanced  
Prerequisite: Freestyle 2 and above, or equivalent. Must obtain consent of instructor. Must be concurrently enrolled in Power Stroking. 

Introduction to Synchronized Skating  
Prerequisite: Alpha and above, or equivalent. Must obtain consent of instructor. Must be concurrently enrolled in badge-level course.
